Is Snowpiercer based on a film?

Snowpiercer is based on the 2013 film of the same name directed by Parasite Oscar winner Bong Joon-ho. It starred Chris Evans , Tilda Swinton, John Hurt , Ed Harris and Jamie Bell.

Why was Snowpiercer cancelled?
