    JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Take some time to unwind with friends, family or yourself this weekend. Below you’ll find a list of some fun events going on this weekend (July 12-14) around Mississippi.

    Central Mississippi

    World Snake Day – Jackson – Friday

    • World Snake Day is a great time to see native snakes up close while learning more about them! You will have a chance to meet live snakes exhibited throughout the museum and to ask questions about them.

    Bubbles, Brews, and Bites Paint & Sip – Jackson – Friday

    • Enjoy an enchanting evening filled with painting, drinks, and gourmet appetizers, set amidst the picturesque backdrop of The Lowry House.

    Belhaven Block Party – Jackson – Friday

    • There will be live music, drinks and ice cream!

    Fleet Feet Coffee Run – Ridgeland – Friday

    • The group usually makes a large loop around the area. After the run, the first round of coffee is free on Fleet Feet!

    Bridgid Ferguson – Clinton – Friday

    • Find tickets for Bridgid Ferguson at Clinton Visitor Center in Clinton.

    Mississippi Watermelon Festival – Mize – Friday and Saturday

    • There will be a watermelon contest, entertainment, food, a 5K run/walk, and a car, bike and truck show.

    Dinosaurs Around the World – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • With advanced animatronics, a multi-layered narrative, cutting-edge research, in an outdoor environment surrounded by nature, you’ll experience the Age of Reptiles brought back to life.

    PAW Patrol Adventure Play Exhibit – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • Save the day through hands-on play at the Mississippi Children’s Museum’s summer exhibit in Jackson, PAW Patrol: Adventure Play!

    Flags from Mississippi – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • The exhibit features 20 flags made from a variety of fabrics, such as wool and silk. Some were sewn by hand. Highlights include an original Magnolia flag, adopted in 1861 as the first official flag of Mississippi, that has been saved by conservators after it became severely fragmented.

    What Became of Dr. Smith – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • What Became of Dr. Smith, is a large-scale, panoramic narrative painting by contemporary artist Noah Saterstrom. The exhibition delves into the life of Saterstrom’s great-grandfather.

    Shrek The Musical Jr. – Vicksburg – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • The show is at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Parkside Playhouse.

    Kidpreneur Business Fair – Jackson – Saturday

    • Kids get to set up their own booths and sell products they’ve created themselves.

    Neon Night – Jackson – Saturday

    • This signature summer fundraising event brings the Mississippi Children’s Museum to life with glowing lights, electrifying music, specialty drinks, and savory snacks.

    Mississippi Farmers Market – Jackson – Saturday

    • From persimmons to peaches, from bok choy to butter beans, the Mississippi Farmers Market is the one place to go for the freshest fruits and vegetables that are grown in the state.

    Movie Night – Brandon – Saturday

    • Brandon will host a Movie Night that will feature a mystery movie. Attendees are encouraged to dress Hawaiian-themed and bring their own chairs/blankets. Drinks, popcorn and nachos will be available for purchase.

    Riviera Day Club Pool Party – Vicksburg – Saturday

    • This will be from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Mulberry Vicksburg. Tickets for this event will be $10 each.

    A Springsteen Celebration – Vicksburg – Saturday

    • Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and live music will begin at 8:00 p.m. at Ameristar Casino.

    River City Comedy Explosion Tour – Vicksburg – Saturday

    • The event is at 8:00 p.m. at the Vicksburg Convention Center.

    Vicksburg Farmers’ Market – Vicksburg – Saturday

    • The event will be held at the Farmers’ Market Lot on the corner of Jackson and Washington Street.

    Natchez Farmers Market – Natchez – Saturday

    • Every week there will be live fresh produce, baked goods, fresh dairy, and arts and crafts all from local growers and artists.

    JXN Film Festival – Jackson – Sunday

    • The JXN Film Festival celebrates independent filmmaking and provides educational training with industry professionals, masterclasses, film screenings, community outreach and more.

    Summer Music Series: Ralph Miller – Jackson – Sunday

    • The Summer Music Series at the Two Mississippi Museums will feature Ralph Miller, a musician from Vicksburg known for his distinct, acoustic sound in his country and folk music performances.

    Back to School: Celebrity Basketball Game – Vicksburg – Sunday

    • The event will feature music by DJ T-Money and Wheezy Outta Here. There will be appearances by former NFL player Malcolm Butler and Kerwin Claiborne. The event will be hosted by Jay Jones.

    Pine Belt

    Zach Williams – Hattiesburg – Friday

    • Zach Williams, American Christian rock artist will perform his “A Hundred Highways Tour” at Hattiesburg’s Historic Saenger Theater.

    New Exhibit at Hattiesburg Pocket Museum – Hattiesburg – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • The Hattiesburg Pocket Museum has a new exhibit every month, so be sure to head downtown for a small surprise!

    The Daq Shak Grand Opening – Hattiesburg – Saturday

    • There will be special guests, door prizes, and specials.

    Summer of Movies: Parent Trap – Hattiesburg – Saturday

    • The movie starts at sunset. Don’t forget to bring your blanket and/or chair for a comfy viewing. Feel free to bring your own beverages and snacks.

    Forrest County Farmers Market – Hattiesburg – Saturday

    • You’ll be able to find fresh fruit and vegetables, jellies, baked goods, casseroles,
      soaps, flowers and more!

    Ellisville Market Days – Ellisville – Saturday

    • The event will feature handmade, homemade, and homegrown goods!

    641 Cookbook Club – Laurel – Saturday

    • Bring your prepared dish for sampling and/or the recipe to share with other club members. Each month’s theme is listed on Laurel-Jones County Library’s social media pages.
