    Foundation announces grant program for region

    A $55,000 grant program is open for application from the L-A-D Foundation, with support from the Community Foundation of the Ozarks. Grants will support the conservation of natural and cultural resources of the Ozarks in L-A-D Foundation’s 12-county service area.

    Nonprofits may apply for up to $10,000 from the L-A-D Foundation Grant Program, administered by the CFO. Organizations must hold 501(c)3 or similar nonprofit status and work in Carter, Crawford, Dent, Madison, Maries, Oregon, Perry, Reynolds, Ripley, Ste. Genevieve, Shannon or Texas counties.

    Projects may include environmental and conservation education, grassroots organizing, new program startup costs, capital support, seed money and workshops. Requests for operating funds or social events will not be considered.

    Agencies can begin the application process at cfozarks.org/applyforgrants . The deadline is Friday, Aug. 30, with grant recipients to be announced in the fall.

    About L-A-D Foundation: Incorporated in 1962, the L-A-D Foundation is a Missouri private operating foundation dedicated to the responsible management of Pioneer Forest as a working demonstration of renewable resource use compatible with the long-term carrying capacity and health of the land and water. The foundation also acquires and preserves in the public interest outstanding areas of natural, geologic, cultural or historic interest. In addition, it provides support to various projects consistent with its conservation goals, with a particular focus on the Missouri Ozarks region. It also land in Texas County.
