A West Virginia delegate has said “it’s time” for President Joe Biden withdraw from the Presidential race.

Delegate Kayla Young, a Democrat from Kanawha County, posted on her social media a statement saying the national Democratic Party is on the wrong path.

“President Biden is a true public servant and the sacrifices that he made for our nation are deeply appreciated. However, it is time for change. Our nation and our democracy require it.”

Young added, ”  urge the president to take advantage of this window of time prior to the Democratic National Convention to withdraw from the presidential race and allow new, energetic leadership to take the reins through a robust convention process with no shortcuts.”

Continuing, “West Virginians and Americans are not satisfied with the status-quo nor should they be. Our generation and beyond deserve a country that works for us and listens to our voice and isn’t politically motivated, but motivated to put our country and communities first.”

Young closed with, “The Democratic nominee must have the confidence of the American people to face the challenges that our nation faces. Now is the right time for that change.”

Well-connected Democratic Party insiders say they expect President Biden to make a major announcement about his future soon  and that congressional leaders expect that Vice President Harris will become their nominee for president if Biden drops his reelection bid.
