The political arm of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, BOLD PAC, endorsed President Biden’s reelection bid Friday, the group first told The Hill.

“President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have delivered for the Latino community and CHC BOLD PAC is proud to endorse them for re-election. From historic investments in our infrastructure system to expanding access to affordable health care, they have championed policies that lifted up our families and communities,” BOLD PAC Chair Rep. Linda Sánchez (D-Calif.) said in a statement.

Sánchez added that the Biden-Harris administration has shown commitment to the Latino community and argued former President Trump winning another term would be “disastrous” to Latinos.

Biden was set to address an UnidosUS conference in Las Vegas on Wednesday but tested positive for COVID-19 just before his remarks. Sánchez argued that Latinos, in places like Nevada, will decide the 2024 election.

“It is clear that Latino voters will decide the margin of victory in competitive races up and down the ballot this cycle, from California and New Mexico to Arizona, Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Nebraska,” she said. “BOLD PAC is investing in targeted outreach and strategic campaigns so that Latino voters mobilize for Democrats up and down the ballot this cycle and power President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris to victory.”

Biden has been faced with growing calls for him to step off the 2024 ticket. He is expected to make a decision about his political future in the coming days, sources tell The Hill.

Meanwhile, Biden campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez said in a statement that Biden and Harris are “honored to earn the support of BOLD PAC.”

“Thanks to President Biden, Vice President Harris, and the members of BOLD PAC, we have been delivering on issues that impact our community’s daily lives, from lowering prescription drug prices for 5 million Latino seniors, to investing in the largest Latino small businesses boom, to addressing gun violence, and investing $11 billion in Hispanic-Serving Institutions,” she said

Chavez Rodriguez also argued that the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee this week showed that “Trump’s Project 2025 is anti-worker and anti-Latino, and Trump himself has consistently demonized and vilified our community.”

The conservative Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 sets up a vision for another Trump term but Trump has attempted to distance himself from it.

“This November, we will harness the power of our community to defeat Donald Trump and his Project 2025 agenda, and reelect President Biden,” Chavez Rodriguez said Friday.
