Glen Powell Talking About His 'Love Story' with His Rescue Dog 'Brisket' Gives Off Proud Dad Vibes

Glen Powell shared his "love story" between him and his rescue dog, Brisket, and the whole time he's talking, he's giving proud dad vibes.

On July 17, 2024, Glen sat down with Hoda Kotb for Today.com. She wanted to learn more about Glen's rescue dog, Brisket, and how their love story began. Take a look!

In a quick clip on the set of Today , we hear just how happy Brisket makes Glen and how their whole story began.

"How did you even get this puppy," she asks Glen, "and why did you wanna get it?"

"This puppy is from the Labelle Foundation," Glen shares as the video shows photos of himself and Brisket. He joked about a selfie picture of himself and Brisket being what happens "when you get bored in Oklahoma" and an older photo of Brisket as a puppy sitting on a chair on the set of the movie Twisters .

"This was, like, his first day on set," the proud dog dad shared. "He just kind of became an on set mascot for the whole Twisters cast."

"Why did you decide to adopt a puppy?" Hoda asked, and Glen happily jumped into telling the story.

"You know, it just felt like, you know, I was going through a breakup at the time, and I felt like a great sense of ..." he explained before jumping to another direction.

"I was in Enid, Oklahoma, I remember sitting in a cafe in Enid, Oklahoma — I almost named Brisket Enid — and I was like, you know, and I need to be a dog dad, and he's been the greatest addition in my life ever. And the whole family loves him. My niece and nephew love him. He's been traveling everywhere.

In the comments, people quickly feel even more in love with Brisket and his dad.

One person shared, "I have four dogs living with me in Oklahoma. Can vouch that’s what happens when you get bored here."

Another added, "Good lord, I have lived in Enid. I would get a dozen puppies if I had to live there again."

Glen Powell Adopted Brisket Last July

On July 5, 2023, Glen took to Instagram to share the news of his new family member, and even then, people instantly fell in love with the dog and the dad.

“It’s a ruff world out there, so I thought it was about time I hire a proper bodyguard… Meet Brisket — 1.5 pounds of raw power," he shared then. "I can’t wait to tackle all the adventures of life with this guy!”

Speaking recently with Entertainment Weekly , Glen discussed in greater detail how he ended up becoming Brisket's dad.

“[Getting a dog] was something I thought about a lot, but it was somewhere in this coffee shop in Enid.... I don't even know how to describe it; I just had the desire to be a father,” he told the publication.

And after he felt that, he saw a picture of Brisket on Instagram from the Labelle Foundation.

"I literally messaged saying, 'Please put in a good word for me. I sent them a heartbreakingly depressing video of me why I needed this dog,” he explained.

"I felt like literally a new father, where I wasn't sleeping while shooting this movie,” he added.
