Team USA's quest for a gold medal for the upcoming Olympics got a major boost. This is after news of Kevin Durant's imminent return from injury was reported by NBA guru Shams Charania of The Athletic on Friday morning.

After missing all of Team USA's tune-up games so far, it has now been revealed that Durant will return to practice Friday with the hope of making his pre-Olympic debut in Saturday's tune-up game against South Sudan.

"Sources: Kevin Durant is expected to return to Team USA practice Friday in London – his first with this Olympic team – and could make his debut in one of exhibition games vs. South Sudan on Saturday or vs. Germany on Monday. He is returning from a strained calf, Charania reported on X, formerly Twitter.

This is a major development for the Americans, who are considered the heavy favorites to win the international tournament in Paris.
