County offices and services in the mid-Hudson Valley have been impacted by the Crowdstrike global technology outage, which has impacted airlines, banks, media companies, healthcare, telecom firms and public transit.

Crowdstrike , a U.S. firm that advertises being used by more than half of Fortune 500 companies, has attributed the outage on Friday morning to a faulty system update that impacted Microsoft's Windows Operating System, and claims it is not related to a cyberattack or security issue.

Dutchess County systems have been disrupted by the outage. The Office of Central & Information Services is working to bring all county systems back online, but expect many county functions may be disrupted through the day.

Dutchess County 911 and 988 Helpline are still fully operational for residents. The Dutchess County offices are open as scheduled for today, but services may be limited.

Orange County also has been impacted by the outage.

The county's 911, 311 and Emergency Services Operations are up and running, but the county's Information Technology Department is working to get other systems back online, and some county functions might be disrupted throughout the day.

Orange County offices will be open as scheduled Friday, but services in various departments might be disrupted.

"The (IT) team's quick and professional response in the middle of the night helped to mitigate and minimize impacts," said Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus.

Sullivan and Ulster counties also experienced similar problems.

"Our 911 and sheriff's office are fully operational, and our entire Information Technology Services Division is diligently working to bring all systems back online," said Sullivan County Legislature Chair Nadia Rajsz.

While Sullivan County offices are open, many services have been disrupted, so Rajsz said residents should call ahead, even for a pre-arranged appointment.

Ulster County said its 911, transportation and emergency systems were operational. Ulster County did report one closure: The Department of Motor Vehicles will be closed today.

While train and bus service has not been impacted by the outage, MTA posted an alert on its website Friday morning advising passengers to listen for station and crew announcements as some customer information systems may be temporarily offline.

    This report may be updated.
