Courtney Wojtowicz is crowned the 2024 Dallas County Fair Queen

Courtney Wojtowicz was crowned the 2024 Dallas County Fair Queen during a coronation ceremony on Friday, July 12.

Wojtowicz is a 2024 graduate of Dallas Center-Grimes High School. Maitlynn Bucklin-Pagano, a 2024 graduate of Waukee Northwest High School, was named the Dallas County Fair Princess.

Other queen contestants included:

• Kelsey Greenslade, will be a senior at ADM
• Brinna Orr, will be a senior at Woodward-Granger
• Sophie Meekma, 2024 graduate of Dallas Center-Grimes

The queen contestants participated in individual and group interviews before the fair. The contestants then wore sashes and participated in various fair activities, including handing out ribbons, before Friday's coronation ceremony. Celia Kreifels, the 2023 fair queen, helped lead this year’s contestants before crowning Wojtowicz as the 2024 fair queen. Kalayna Durr, the 2023 Iowa State Fair Queen, was also on hand to hand out sashes.

Wojtowicz will represent Dallas County at the Iowa State Fair, which will be held from Aug. 8-18 in Des Moines.

Before Wojtowicz was crowned as the Dallas County Fair Queen, 14 girls (ages 6-8, all residents of Dallas County) participated in the first-ever Little Miss Dallas County Fair contest.

Addalyn Hansel was named the 2024 Little Miss Dallas County Fair. Hansel, the daughter of Ben and Arielle Hansel, will be going into the second grade at Meadow View Elementary in Adel this fall.

• Norah Sandquist, daughter of Brittany and Michael Sandquist
• Natalie Smith, daughter of Tammie Smith
• Taylor Sonntag, daughter of Amy and Tyler Sonntag
