A global IT outage involving Microsoft and CrowdStrike has grounded flights and hit banks on Friday. But it hasn't impacted operations at Cedar Point and Kings Island.

On X, formerly Twitter, Kings Island posted that the park will be open its normal hours today, in response to many questions about the Microsoft outage.

At Cedar Point, park spokesman Tony Clark said the outage has had no impact on operations that he's seen.

Both amusement parks open at 10 a.m. Friday.

In an incident a cybersecurity firm blamed on a faulty system update, a major global technology outage halted flights, disrupted bank operations, delayed public transit systems and forced medical facilities to cancel elective surgeries Friday, USA TODAY reports.

CrowdStrike said one of its recent updates had a defect that impacted Microsoft's Windows Operating System, adding the incident was "not a security incident or cyberattack."

"The issue has been identified, isolated and a fix has been deployed," said a statement from CrowdStrike.
