With the new school year imminent and summer break winding down, the window for a family road trip is closing.

Those looking for a quick getaway need only head up the road to Ruidoso, New Mexico.

Ruidoso is already a favorite nearby spot for El Pasoans who want to hike, camp, play golf, and gamble, but did you know it is also home to a unique water attraction?

Nearby Grindstone Lake has a colorful, floating water park and obstacle course that is both super cool fun, and super cooling as well.

Wibit Water Park at Grindstone Lake is an inflatable platform made up of giant slides, towers, trampolines, ramps, and wiggle bridges where kids of all ages can bounce, slide, climb, jump and splash in the water.

The water attraction is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through August 4. After that, weekends only until Labor Day, September 2.

Day Use fee is $20.00 per person; life jacket (required) included. Grindstone Lake parking fee is $10 per vehicle.

There is no play time limit unless the number of people exceeds the maximum number of people allowed. Then 45-minute rotations are employed to accommodate everyone until number drops below max.
