NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — With summer flying by, parents and students across Tennessee will soon be heading back to the classroom for the 2024-2025 school year.
Most schools in Tennessee resume classes in August, but a few return in late July, meaning the summer is quickly winding down.

Here are when most Middle Tennessee school districts will welcome students back.
- July 31 – Open House (abbreviated day)
- Aug. 2 – School begins
- Aug. 2 – First day for students
- Aug. 2 – Abbreviated day for students
- Aug. 5 – First full day for students
- Aug. 2 – Half day for students (10 a.m. dismissal)
- Aug. 5 – First full day
