BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Broome County Executive Jason Garnar announced the launch of a new dispatch communication system on Thursday.

Garnar announced that all first responders will be on the new communication network, allowing each agency to be on one line.

Garnar says the installation of the service was crucial. He says public safety is a top priority in Broome County.

Garnar also announced the new Broome County Office of Emergency Services Mobile Command and Communications unit. He says the unit has been purchased to use during planned events such as Spiedie Fest, the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open, and at emergency scenes.
