Video emerged Friday of the Iranian-made drone that hit Tel Aviv overnight on Thursday killing one and injuring ten people just blocks away from the U.S. consulate.

The video, shared online by Haaretz reporter Bar Peleg , shows the drone approaching the city over the Mediterranean Sea and exploding over the city skyline. The drone’s motor can be heard as it clearly comes into view in the clip.

Israel’s highly advanced air defense system did not shoot the drone down as it does with most rockets and other projectiles launched at the country. Additionally, no air raid siren went off ahead of the drone hitting the country’s most-populated city.

IDF chief spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said in a statement that the drone was detected by Israel’s advanced air defense system, but that an “error” occurred and “there was no interception.” Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for the attack following months of drone and rocket launches at Israel.

The Associated Press noted of the attack that “the hit in Israel’s biggest city was startling because the drone appeared to have crossed much of the country through the multilayered air defenses that have intercepted almost all of the drones and rockets that Yemen’s Houthis have been launching toward Israel since the Gaza war began. Most have failed even to reach Israel’s southernmost city, Eilat, on the Red Sea some 270 kilometers (160 miles) south of Tel Aviv.”
