Section of Rowanty Road in Prince George to close for maintenance

PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A section of Rowanty Road in Prince George County will close next week for a maintenance repair project, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Weather permitting, the Virginia Department of Transportation will close a section of Rowanty Road from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, July 22 and Tuesday, July 23 for a maintenance repair project.

According to the department, drivers should travel using the following detour routes:

Westbound traffic: Travel north on South Crater Road to Woodys Road, turn left and travel west to Halifax Road, turn left and travel south to Rowanty Road
Eastbound traffic: Travel north on Halifax Road to Woodys Road, turn right and travel east to South Crater Road, turn right and travel south to Rowanty Road
