Like small children, dogs are known for forming an attachment to particular things. Whether it’s their favorite stuffy, a ball, or a blanket, these items bring them a sense of comfort and security.

This beautiful Saint Bernard prefers to find solace in her favorite tree. Not a day goes by when she doesn’t check in to see how it’s doing.

Watch this video, shared on July 8, to see how she shows she cares.

it's literally the love of her life & I don't know why lol

This is one of those times when I wish a dog could use words to tell us precisely what they are feeling. Sweet Emmaline (@ saintemmeline ) found the love of her life in a beautiful tree. Her parents explained that she checks it every day, rain or shine, and will only go inside once she has. Whether it’s a gentle sniff or a happy boop with her nose, she sure lets this tree know she’s around. Although we humans may understand that a tree is a living thing, I would be curious to know the level at which dogs understand this. As Emmaline shows us, they may be more alive than we even realize. Perhaps it’s this breed in particular that is even more in tune with the energy surrounding them.

The Caring Nature of the Saint Bernard

Saint Bernards are known as gentle giants with sweet and friendly personalities. While their enormous size ranges from 120-180 pounds on average, their hearts are their most significant assets. Monks in the Swiss Alps initially bred them to help rescue peopl e lost in the snow. After hundreds of years of breeding in a monastery, in the presence of spiritual people and those who may have been in distress, perhaps they developed a sixth sense for all beings.

People shared their theories. Viewer @TracyQ responded, “I like to think that her soul recognizes another soul that she knew in a previous life. Maybe they weren’t even dog souls. They could have been human in previous life.” That may be. Viewer @KarlDickinson remarked, “We don’t deserve dogs! They know way more than we do. That tree talks to her every day. We just can’t hear it!” It appears it’s telling her something. Viewer @bridget proposed, “Imagine if the family who lived there before you buried their fur baby and planted that tree in tribute.” It makes you wonder, and it gives us a reason to stop and consider the life that’s all around us.

Like us, this beautiful dog understands everyone can benefit from the care of a great friend. It’s also a warm reminder to check in on those we love.
