    Rabies alert issued in Jackson County

    JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – The Florida Department of Health in Jackson County is monitoring rabies among wild animals in the area.

    According to the FDH, this comes in response to a single confirmed case of rabies in a raccoon that was killed near Bullfrog Drive in Jackson County on July 12.

    The rabies alert remains for 60 days and includes the following areas in Jackson County:

    Northern boundary: Tower Road
    Southern boundary: Wolf Pond Road
    Eastern boundary: Dunaway Road
    Western boundary: Wintergreen Road
