Bubblegum deviled eggs? Taste them at the Ohio State Fair

OHIO (WJW) – The 2024 Ohio State Fair will showcase a brand new deviled egg flavor, and it’s one you probably never imagined: bubblegum.

The Ohio Poultry Association announced that it will debut its Bubblegum Deviled Eggs, with a smooth and creamy bubblegum-flavored filling, as the featured 2024 Ohio State Fair deviled egg flavor when the fair opens on Wednesday, July 24.

The OPA is also introducing six other flavors including espresso, maple bacon crunch, buffalo chicken, dill pickle, hot dog and guacamole.

Fairgoers will be able to taste all the new deviled egg flavors with deviled egg flights, which will all be available at the Devilishly Good Food Stand in the Taste of Ohio Pavilion & Beer Garden.

“Our Devilishly Good Egg Stand was a tremendous hit last year, and we’re looking forward to expanding upon that success by offering new and creative flavors for fairgoers to try,” said Jim Chakeres, OPA executive vice president. “Deviled eggs are not only a delicious and versatile snack, but they also are an all-around complete protein with essential vitamins and minerals for healthy living.”

This year, the OPA will have two food booths at the Ohio State Fair.

According to a press release from the OPA, one of the stands will be a “traditional food stand featuring Ohio egg, chicken and turkey foods.” The second stand will be the Devilishly Good Egg Food Stand offering four deviled egg flight options including basic, savory, sweet and the 2024 new flavor flight.

The OPA will also host the “Egg-citing and Devilishly Good and the Egg-stra, Egg-stra! Competitions” on July 27.
