    Broome County highway work planned for next week

    BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. ( WIVT/WBGH ) – The Broome County Department of Public Works is making the public aware of upcoming road work.

    The following road work has been scheduled for the week beginning July 22:

    • Patching continues on Cherry Valley Hill Road
    • Milling and re-paving on Stratmill Road (weather dependent)
    • Replacing culvert pipes on Oakdale Road and East Maine Road
    • Ditch cleaning and shoulder rebuilding continues on Old Route 17 and Brady Hill Road
    • Reconstruction continues to a section of Arbutus Road
    • Striping to county and town roadways
    • Mowing roadside on several county roads

    The department is also continuing to work on the bridge replacement and sewer project on Hooper Road. A one lane closure is in place between Farm to Market Road and Northwood/Manor Entrance intersection. Both lanes are closed from Pheasant Lane to Farm to Market Road. The road closures will be in place until July 29.

    Drivers are reminded to be cautious in work zones even if they are not as active as some routes.
