Colbert jokes about Babydog running for President: ‘Better than RFK Jr.’

Justice’s 60-pound English bulldog was featured in articles from The New York Times, the Washington Post, USA Today, and many more.

Babydog also spawned plenty of jokes from late-night talk show hosts, including Stephen Colbert who said she would be better than Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy for the presidency because “She takes her worm medication.”

Colbert’s joke about worm medication is in reference to RFK Jr. revealing he had a brain worm that caused him brain fog and memory loss . The New York Times reported a doctor told Kennedy a worm in his brain that ate a portion of it and then died caused a dark spot visible on brain scans.

Gov. Jim Justice is the Republican candidate for one of West Virginia’s U.S. Senate seats. He beat challenger Rep. Alex Mooney with almost 62% of the vote, according to the Associated Press.

He will go up against Wheeling Mayor and Democratic challenger Glenn Elliott in November. The seat is currently held by Sen. Joe Manchin (I-WV) who announced he would not run for re-election in 2024.
