NORTH DAKOTA ( KXNET ) — You conquer the boss battle, but you’re met with pain in the neck in real life.

That’s the reality of “Nintendo Neck” — a condition caused by bad posture when playing video games.

“Maintaining a good form is crucial for gamers,” said Gaming Expert and CEO of FreezeNove Games , Marin Cristian-Ovidiu. “It prevents headaches, neck pain, and other issues that can take you out of the game faster than a blue shell.”

How does the “Nintendo Neck” attack?

It happens from holding your head down for long periods of time and straining neck muscles which can lead to headaches, stiffness, and pain.

Thankfully, there are five ways you can beat the pain.

7 free ways to beat the heat and boredom

The first thing is to conquer the couch by sitting upright with shoulders back and ears aligned with the shoulders. Imagine a thread pulling your head towards the ceiling.

The second thing is to not be glued to the screen . Get up and move around often so you’re not in front of the screen for hours.

The third thing is to stretch . Cristian-Ovidiu recommends simple neck stretches that can reduce pain and improve flexibility.

The fourth thing is to level up the screen height . Rather than hunching over, position the screen at eye level.

The final thing is to use a standing desk if you have one. They improve posture and reduce strain to make you a champion with comfort and control.

“Remember, if the pain persists, consult a doctor to rule out any underlying medical conditions,” said Cristian-Ovidiu.

Follow these tips to conquer the game and bad posture.
