Two more Nashville-style hot chicken restaurants have opened this summer and there's a good chance the spicy sandwiches are soon coming to a neighborhood near you.

State of play: Two chains are continuing their expansions in the Twin Cities : locally-based Nashville Coop and Los Angeles-based Dave's Hot Chicken. Dave's is franchised locally by the family of former NBA player Kris Humphries.

Driving the news: Dave's will open in Coon Rapids on Aug. 9, Kris' father, Alex Humphries told Axios. The group has also signed a lease for a spot in the North Loop and will open in early 2025, he said.

    • Nashville Coop and its real estate agent have been scouting for sites in Eagan and in the north metro, said CEO Arif Ahmed.

By the numbers: Dave's opened its third Twin Cities location in Apple Valley June, joining outposts in Minnetonka and Highland Park.

    • Nashville Coop opened its Richfield location earlier this month and also has restaurants in St. Paul and Stadium Village.
