The leader at The Open Championship turned a rare miscue into a bad look.

After Shane Lowry badly mis-hit a ball that sailed into the crowd Friday during his 11th hole, the Irish golfer turned around and angrily gesticulated at what seemed to be a cameraman whom he believed was too close.

As I was over the ball I could just see you putting your f—kin’ camera up. Just get outta the way. Just get back there,” Lowry said while seemingly gesturing to the camera. “F–k’s sake.”

Shane Lowry didn’t let 11th hole disaster stop march atop British Open leaderboard

The ordeal did not slow down, however.

Lowry hit his next shot, his third on the hole, into the gorse and took a drop shot — which he sent onto the green — before his original ball was found. He opted to incur the unplayable and took another drop, landing short of the green. He two-putted his way to ending the 28-minute debacle with a double-bogey 6 .

Despite the error and viral reaction, Lowry remains atop the British Open scoreboard at 7-under par through play as of late Friday morning, including posting a 2-under par 69 on the day.

The 37-year-old Lowry is seeking his second major win after previously triumphing at The Open in 2019.

Lowry has turned a solid outing at May’s PGA Championship — where he finished tied for sixth — into arguably his best career performance to date.

However, Scotland’s Royal Troon Golf Club has proved a house of horrors for countless stars this year.

Tiger Woods was missed the cut Friday after shooting 14-over-par.

Beyond that, world No. 2 Rory McIlroy is 13-over par through the sixth hole Friday, and U.S. Open winner Bryson DeChambeau is 7-over par through his seventh hole.

Meanwhile, No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler is still in striking distance at 2-under par, but hasn’t looked like his usually dominant self.

Attempting to put Friday’s incident in the rearview mirror, Lowry isn’t focused on some big names that trail him.

“I know tomorrow is going to be a long day, but I’ve done it before,” Lowry said after the end of his second round. “For me, it’s just about going out there and playing my own game, shooting the best score I can, and then seeing where it leaves me at the end of the day. Try not to worry about what other people are doing, and just trying to take care of your own personal stuff.”

Lowry will have two more days to stave off competition and claim his second major crown, with action from Royal Troon in Scotland set to conclude Sunday.
