Moffa is ready to introduce himself to the world with his debut album. On Friday, the Puerto Rican star released his 10-track LP Playground , which features Manuel Turizo and Robi, and hears the musician looking back at his childhood memories with nostalgia.

“This album represents facets of my life as an artist, reflecting on my childhood, while combining the musical influences I grew up with and experiences from my love life,” Moffa tells Rolling Stone . “Being able to release this debut project means continuing to raise the bar both musically and artistically.”

“I want Playground to be a complete experience and for the fans to take the songs’ themes and turn them into a lifestyle,” he adds. “I hope the fans can relate to it and focus on that nostalgia we get when we think of childhood memories or the longing to return to the past to relive special moments.”

Early in the album, on “Bluedream,” he sings to the first person he fell in love with in hopes that “she hits me up.” On perreo track “Sussy,” he features Manuel Turizo and Ñengo Flow, which he says felt like “winning a trophy and entering legend mode.” The LP also hears him tap into R&B and hip-hop on “Raitrú” and “Llorando en Chanel.”

He ends the LP with “José Feliciano,” a self-referential, sentimental track that features the voices of his parents from when he was a little kid. “Every time I listen to it, I cry because time passes so quickly, and it is special to remember what you have experienced,” he said. “A huge thank you to my family, who have sacrificed a lot so that I can achieve my dreams.”

The new album comes several months after Rolling Stone named him one of the 19 Latin Artists We’re Rooting For in 2024 . He’s set to perform at Puerto Rico’s LA Factoría on July 19 and later in Miami on Aug. 17.
