During this week’s episode of Impact, Jeff Hardy had his head put through a steel chair and was then slammed throat-first into the ring post by JDC, formally known as Fandango. This would see security and medical staff rush to help Hardy, and the former AEW wrestler would be put in a neckbrace, stretched out, and then loaded into an ambulance.

And now it has been reported by PWInsider.com that this angle was likely done to write Hardy off TNA television while the company runs shows in Canada, as he can’t enter the country due to his highly published legal issues.

“Jeff Hardy was stretchered off TNA TV tonight to explain why he won’t be at the Slammiversary weekend events. Hardy was never advertised for the shows, which are in Canada. Likely, he is unable to enter the country due to his past issues.”

After seven years away from TNA, Jeff Hardy returned to the promotion at their Against All Odds event last month. This was especially notable as his AEW contract had just expired, making it possible for him to reunite with his brother Matt Hardy, who was wrestling in the main event. And while many anticipate Jeff being a TNA regular for the foreseeable future, it is understood that, like Matt, he remains a free agent.
