Rihanna's Savage X Fenty's opens in Chicago suburb

Rihanna's Savage X Fenty has opened its first Illinois store in Orland Park.

Why it matters: Savage X Fenty apparel has been lauded for celebrating all shapes and sizes, but Chicago shoppers were only able to purchase online until now.

Driving the news: The 3,600-square-foot store opened Friday in Orland Square Mall, one of six new U.S. stores the company plans to open in 2024.

What they're saying : "What we've learned is that more and more people want to touch, try and buy. They don't want to go online, and I think this long line proves that," Orland Square Mall marketing director Cathy Mein tells Axios.

• Nicole Servin from Chicago Heights came to the opening because she admires the pop and fashion icon. "I love her. I love what she does. It's been fascinating seeing her grow as an artist. I've been a fan since 2005. It's been a true experience."

What to expect : The apparel brand explains there is an "extensive assortment of styles made for everyBODY." Inside the store, shoppers can expect to find lingerie, sleepwear and sportswear for both men and women, with sizes ranging from XS-4X.
