Expect thunderstorms in Piedmont Triad over the weekend

(WGHP) — The weekend will not be a washout, but scattered showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast.

Scattered showers, even a rumble of thunder, will be possible Saturday morning. During the day Saturday, scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely with highs in the lower 80s. The chance of rain is 70%. Thunderstorms on Saturday afternoon and evening could bring heavy rain and gusty winds.

We’ll see scattered showers and thunderstorms Sunday and Monday with highs in the middle 80s. The chance of rain is 60%.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, we’ll see scattered showers and thunderstorms with highs in the middle 80s. The chance of rain is 70%.

We’ll see scattered showers and thunderstorms on Thursday with highs in the middle 80s. The chance of rain is 60%.

It will be partly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms on Friday with highs in the middle 80s. The chance of rain is 60%.

By Friday, July 26, we could finish with two to three inches of rain. There’s a chance some neighborhoods could see more.
