Just like Liverpool, Manchester City is heading to the US this summer for pre-season friendlies and more preparation for the new Premier League campaign.

And just like Arne Slot, Pep Guardiola will be without several senior players . The likes of Kyle Walker and Rodri went far with their nations this summer. Like Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alexis Mac Allister , they are now on holiday and are unlikely to be back in training with their clubs until a fortnight or so before the opening weekend of the 2024/25 Premier League season.

And that means that several young talents will be given a chance to impress during the fixtures on US soil. For Liverpool, for instance, Harvey Blair could be one to watch out for with Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz currently away. Kaide Gordon and Ben Doak are more familiar names who should be handed plenty of minutes.

Manchester City boss Guardiola has named a very familiar name to Liverpool fans in his squad to travel Stateside. The Catalan coach is taking 27 players on the Citizens' pre-season tour, where they will face Celtic, Barcelona and AC Milan.

Among them are Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland, but so too Jaden Heskey, the son of former Liverpool and England striker Emile. Jaden, an 18-year-old forward who was born about six months after the Reds won the Champions League against Milan in Istanbul, scored 17 times for Manchester City last season at youth level. He notched five in eight appearances in the FA Youth Cup.

Liverpool.com says: It's always interesting to see a few familiar names like this one! Liverpool, of course, has a few of its own, with Bobby Clark , Lewis Koumas and Jayden Danns the son's of former Premier League stars. Prince Kobe Cisse, son of Djibril, made his debut for the Reds' U18s in March.
