SNOW HILL, N.C. (WNCT) – In Greene County, federal, state and local officials, along with supporters gathered to break ground for Greene Central High School’s new building Friday.

School leaders said the $62-million facility includes state-of-the-art career and technical opportunities including new STEM, health-science and agricultural labs, as well as, an automotive facility.

“You always want to give kids a first-class opportunity at learning because it sets the stage for so much they do in life and going forward,” Greene Central High School Principal Dr. Patrick Greene said.

They said they expect construction to be completed by August of 2026.
