    Hanover Sheriff warning residents about scams related to IT outage

    HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is warning the county’s residents about scammers taking advantage of the CrowdStrike IT outage that has been affecting computer systems across the country since Friday morning.

    The sheriff’s office is asking residents to be wary of emails or text messages from people claiming to be tech support from CrowdStrike trying to solicit money in exchange for fixing technical problems.
