Odell Beckham Jr. took legal action against Nike in 2022 by filing a $20 million USD lawsuit. He recently shared on Instagram his feelings of relief and gratitude, announcing that the lawsuit has been resolved.

OBJ initiated the legal dispute after claiming that Nike had withheld millions of dollars from him during a contract disagreement. The former Nike endorser accused the company of breaching their contract and acting unfairly, leading to his belief that he had been deceived out of a substantial sum. A jury from the Multnomah County Circuit Court ultimately determined that neither party had violated their agreements. Consequently, no financial compensation was awarded as the court found no evidence of damages incurred by either Nike or OBJ.

OBJ celebrated the resolution of the lawsuit on Instagram by sharing a photo of himself with his legal team. “JUST DO……RIGHT @nike . I wanna take this moment to thank God first and foremost thank you Heavenly Father. I wanna thank my team for every hour they have spent preparing on this case. I wanna thank the jury for simply doing what’s right in a world full of wrong… my message to whoever needs this is, STAND UP FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN! JUSTICE WAS SERVED!!!”

Nike released an official statement in response to OBJ’s remarks regarding the verdict.

“With this verdict, all of Mr. Beckham’s claims have been decided against him without any monetary award. The decision confirmed that Nike complied with its commitments. Nike is grateful to the jury and the Court for their careful attention to this case.”
