Fans Can't Get Over 'Surprisingly Good' New Coke Flavor—But Not Everyone Is Convinced

Some of the most successful snacks in history have celebrated seemingly unusual flavor combinations—just take the famous Reese's Peanut Butter Cups tagline: "Two great tastes that taste great together." Now there's a new Coke flavor that mixes classic cola with another favorite food...but fans aren't sure if this particular combo is a good idea.

A recent post to the popular Snackolator account on Instagram announced the debut of a brand new variation on the Coca-Cola everybody knows and loves: popcorn-flavored Coke.

"My brain is scrambled: Popcorn flavored Coke is a real thing?! You can now get this at McDonald's in Germany and I just do not know what to think. They are currently offering this at @mcdonaldsde and it features Coca-Cola that has a flavor shot of popcorn.I love drinking some @cocacola with popcorn so this makes sense, but then it also doesn't make sense because it's IN THE COKE itself!"

While some commenters loved this movie theatre-inspired novelty, not everybody was on board.

"Why would you do something so disrespectful to a McDonald’s crispy coke?" one person wanted to know.

"I love popcorn but this is crossing the line," said another.

Still, there were some positive reactions.

"I actually see the appeal to this," wrote one commenter, while another agreed the concept "might be good."

One customer who said they had the pleasure of trying it chimed in, noting, "I just tried it this week in germany! it was surprisingly good? ! would definitely get again."

Either unfortunately or fortunately, depending on your personal opinion, popcorn-flavored Coke is only available in Germany for the time being. Coca-Cola drinkers in the U.S. still have several varieties of the soda to choose from, however, including the (relatively) recent addition of Coca-Cola Spiced , which features a "burst of raspberry and spiced flavors."
