YAZOO COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) - A shocking incident has led to the arrest of two individuals on charges of statutory rape, as reported by the Yazoo County Sheriff's Department. According to Sheriff Jeremy McCoy, the incident unfolded following a call received by Yazoo County deputies on July 5 at approximately 6:20 a.m. The call indicated that a 13-year-old girl was in a vehicle with a 20-year-old man. Deputies promptly responded to the scene and encountered both individuals along with the girl's parents.

At least two children suffered injuries after a fire rapidly grew in the Angeles National Forest. The children suffered smoke inhalation injuries.  It started in the San Gabriel Mountains above Glendora at about 3:10 p.m. near the East Fork Road area. The Angeles National Forest dubbed the blaze the Fork Fire. As of 6 p.m., the wildfire was around 250 acres. So far, crews have 0% containment. The Angeles National Forest issued evacuation orders with a staging area in the parking lot with trail access to the Bridge to Nowhere. East Fork Road is closed from Highway 39 to Glendora Mountain Road. Highway 39 will also be closed through the weekend.The Fork Fire caused the South Coast Air Quality Management District to issue an air quality advisory.This is a developing story.
