Friendly’s celebrates 89th birthday with National Ice Cream Month

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Locally established restaurant chain, Friendly’s is celebrating its birthday during National Ice Cream Month by offering .89¢ single scoop cones.

The food chain was founded in Springfield in 1935 and is headquartered in Wilbraham. From July 17th through July 21st  Friendly’s is offering .89¢ single scoop cones at all locations. Fan Club members will receive $2 dribbles through the end of July.

“We look forward to National Ice Cream Day every year and when combined with our Founders Day celebrations, it’s a great way to reignite fans’ ice cream passions,” said Dawn Petite, president of Friendly’s Restaurants. “At Friendly’s, we’re all about  creating lasting, indulgent memories for families and friends, and we can’t wait to throw a party like it’s the Summer of 1989!”

Friendly’s launched its Summerfest Menu from June 5th through October 2nd with items such as the Maine Style Lobster Roll, Lobster & Shrimp Quesadilla, Strawberry Salad, Sugar Cone Nachos, and the back by popular demand Wattamelon Sherbet Cake. For a full list of SummerFest items visit FriendlysRestaurant.com .
