Aly Raisman opened up about a health struggle she had been battling in private.

The three-time Olympic gold gymnast appeared on the Wednesday, July 17 episode of Call Her Daddy with host Alex Cooper . During her interview, she revealed that she was hospitalized twice with symptoms similar to a stroke.

She said she couldn't remember her name, was slurring her words and could barely speak. She said she was scared since she had to get tested for a stroke both times and was not able to move her body. Both instances happened at different times throughout the years, one being during the COVID-19 pandemic meaning she could not have anyone by her side in the hospital.

She said: "They're asking me what my name is, but I can't remember my name or say what my name is and I was aware enough to know like, 'Oh my God, I have two men that I can't move my arms and my legs. I can't move my body. I can't speak. Like, what if they take advantage of me?'"

Aly was one of the victims who was sexually abused by former USA Gymnastics and Michigan State University doctor Larry Nassar. In 2018 he was sentenced 40-175 years in prison for the acts he did when medically treating Aly and other gymnasts.

She continued: "I was like really still struggling a lot with PTSD. People don't realize how much it still lives with you when you've been through something traumatic."

The second time the Olympian was hospitalized was in 2023. She said she could not sit up on her own and doctors did not want to release her.

Aly said: "I needed help walking, going to the bathroom. It was just the most to be able to go from being like an athlete and being able to push myself so much to being able to literally not even be able to move my fingers, move my legs. I had complete body paralysis."

Stress could trigger the symptoms and make it worse for the gymnast. Aly revealed that she has been "on top" of her therapy but all her progress could be put to the test when she goes to the 2024 Paris Olympics as an official hospitality ambassador for the event.

She said: "There's going to be a lot of triggers. I might see someone that maybe didn't protect me in the past."
