    Bill Belichick.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero confirmed earlier this week that former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was “fully invested” in coaching again next season.

There are bound to be more than a few head-coaching vacancies to be filled next season, but ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler recently stated on the “Talkin’ Ball with Pat Leonard” podcast that he believes there’s one job Belichick wants badly.

“If Philly opens, it’s just a perfect fit in my opinion,” Fowler said . “I think he would want that job in the worst way in my sense.”

With the way the Eagles 2023 season ended, there’s a solid chance Belichick might get his wish.

Philly started the year 10-1 but lost five of its last six games before getting blown out 32-9 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during Super Wild Card Weekend. And it wasn’t just that the Eagles were losing regularly toward the end of the year, there was a lot of tension reportedly in the locker room and between the coaching staff and players that nearly cost head coach Nick Sirianni his job .

Things got so bad that receiver A.J. Brown even organized a team bonding day at an escape room to try and mend some fences.

After overhauling nearly his entire coaching staff and vowing to not let 2023 repeat itself, Sirianni saved his job, but as The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported on her “Scoop City” podcast, he’s believed to be on a really short leash .
