URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — The Champaign County Fair is underway and with it, officials have brought back a “blast from the past” for fairgoers.

    The rodeo is back.

It’s been about seven years since they’ve had the pro rodeo hit the dirt, kicking off Thursday night.

Board members said they hope this event will bring more families out. They’ll also have a horse pull, monster truck night, Josh Turner concert and more.

“We like to try to cater to everybody and we’re trying to make this a big family event,” said Bob Barker, Champaign County Fair board member. “More than it has been in the past. And we’re trying to bring back the old times.”

The fair runs through next Saturday. Ticket prices for those 13 and older is $8. Ages six to 12 are $2 and ages five and younger get in for free.
