Where to score free school supplies in Fresno County

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Stocking up for the new school year can be expensive for many families, but there are at least a dozen events in Fresno County where parents can get their hands on free back-to-school supplies.

According to the National Retail Federation , families plan to spend an average of $875 on school supplies this year. Most of this shopping is done in one fell swoop during the summer months leading up to the school year – making the cost even more difficult to manage.

Luckily, Fresno County has several charitable organizations that want to help with the task. Several groups will even be supplying free food and drinks, some will have bounce houses, others are offering free haircuts, and one is even preparing a light show.

Certain venues require students to be present, others may also require an RSVP. Check out each link for more information.
