CLEAR CREEK COUNTY, Colo. — Evacuations were issued due to a wildfire burning near a mobile home park in the Dumont area on Friday.

The Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office said 96 addresses were evacuated in the Western Inn Trailer Court, which the fire is being named after, located in the 2600 block of County Road 308. The grass fire is located just north of Interstate 70 near the trailer park, between Lawson and Empire.

County Road 308 is closed near the fire, the sheriff's office said.

As of 3:50 p.m., the sheriff's office said the fire had moved to a ridge. A helicopter was on scene making water dumps.

As of 4:15 p.m., Interstate 70 westbound was closed at Highway 40 so the helicopter can get water from a creek. A plane was also dumping retardant.

A Lookout Alert notification was sent to residents who need to evacuate.

Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said crews were also working a small 100-by-100-foot wildfire near the 24000 block of Clubhouse Drive, just north of Golden.

Foothills Fire and Genesee Fire were able to get the fire contained, but smoke was possibly still visible from the highway.
