One lane in each direction reopened on Highway 154 Friday

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. – Two lanes on Highway 154, one in each direction, are now open as of Friday afternoon.

Caltrans District 5 reopened the two lanes on Highway 154 between San Antonio Creek Road and Painted Cave road following repairs to pavement cracking discovered on June 21. Crews found the cracks while working on an emergency slip-out repair project.

Intermittent closures are expected to continue between Monday, July 22 and Friday, July 26, to allow crews to continue working on the repair project and pavement reconstruction following a series of winter storms. One-way traffic control will be in place during these lane closures according to Caltrans officials.

Each day work will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m. except Friday, Jul. 26, when work is currently scheduled to conclude at noon detailed Caltrans District 5.
