A legal hold placed on 35 French bulldogs seized by Las Vegas police has been released and the dogs will soon be adoptable, according to a spokesperson with The Animal Foundation.

A few dogs are already available for adoption, but the others will become available as they pass medical and behavioral evaluations.

"If people are interested in adopting, they should closely monitor our adoption search page," said Kelsey Pizzi, communications manager with The Animal Foundation. Adoptions are done on a first come first serve basis and people usually line up outside before we open at 11 a.m."

Earlier this month, at least 39 dogs — 35 of them French bulldogs — were seized from a Henderson home in what police say was a "backyard breeding" operation. Four of the dogs were pregnant.

The dogs were discovered as police were serving a warrant in a drug investigation. Two men — Alberto Gonzalez-Fleites and Yankiel Gonzalez — were arrested for "various drug related offenses," police said.

“That was real bad for the dogs to be in that kind of condition but thank god they are ok now and all of them are going to have a good home," said Jose Saenz, who adopted one of the dogs.

On Saturday, a long line people wrapped around The Animal Foundation hoping to get their hands on one of the dogs.

"I came real early arond 7 and then, finally, after like 5 hours, we got what we want," said Saenz.

“To me, it’s a dream come true," said John Monks, who also adopted a French Bulldog. "And I know I that I’ve done the right thing to rescue this beautiful little baby from what she was going through.”

Monk tried to adopt one of the dogs after he saw a handful of them on The Animal Foundation's website, but once he arrived to the shelter, they were all gone.
    He tried again on Saturday.

"If there had been more than 2 people in front of me, I would have left…. I feel truly blessed to have her….  So divine intervention whatever you want to think," said Monk.

Both said the french bulldogs are expensive and are grateful to The Animal Foundation for waving adoption fees.

"Better than what I was expecting," added Saenz.

The animal foundation will be waiving adoption fees until July 27.
