US Olympic athlete Kennedy Blades is making waves in the world of wrestling. Born on September 4, 2003, in Chicago, Illinois, Blades has been a part of Team USA for four years, from 2020 to 2025. She currently holds the number one ranking in the 76 kg/167.5 lbs category for the 2024-25 Team USA.

Blades' journey in wrestling began at a young age. She attended Wyoming Seminary in Kingston, Pennsylvania, where she was the 2019 Prep School National champion. She also won the Super 32 championship in 2018 and 2019. After high school, she moved to Arizona State University, where she currently maintains a 3.72 GPA.

Her international career is equally impressive. She has participated in several world championships, earning a gold medal at the 2021 U20 Worlds in the 72 kg category, a silver medal at the 2023 U23 Worlds in the 76 kg category, and a bronze medal at the 2023 U20 Worlds in the 76 kg category. She also placed seventh at the 2019 U17 Worlds in the 73 kg category.

In addition to her world championship accolades, Blades has also won several national and international tournaments. She was the U.S. Olympic Team Trials champion in 2024 and the U.S. Open champion in 2023. She also won gold at the 2018 U17 Pan American Championships and the 2023 Ibrahim Moustafa tournament in Egypt.
