Maxx Crosby reveals what the Las Vegas Raiders' front office does to get his opinion on free agents in the offseason

Certain players on certain teams have a ton of say in what the team does during the offseason. For example, the Kansas City Chiefs asked Patrick Mahomes about offensive players, the New England Patriots used to ask Tom Brady about players, and so on. For the Las Vegas Raiders, two players have some say.

Obviously, on the Netflix show Receiver, we saw Davante Adams give the Raiders an ultimatum when it came to who was going to be the starting quarterback moving forward after Josh McDaniels was fired. So, we know he has some influence. And, while we have yet to hear an example, we know Maxx Crosby has some influence as well on the defensive side.

Honestly, if he didn't have any influence, he wouldn't be on the team right now, as he also gave an ultimatum about hiring Antonio Pierce, and threatened to request a trade. So, it is no secret that the Raiders probably ask Crosby about certain players, too.

"You know, even when we had [Josh] McDaniels, or even AP [Antonio Pierce] he will call me about a guy in free agency and ask me what I think about him. I'll be blunt and honest - this is what I see, this is what I don't. And a lot of times guys will come in, and they typically don't last long, but they will be like 'Hey Maxx, I want to work with you.' And you can figure out who they are in about a week. That's a special thing being a captain."

Crosby has earned the right to give his feedback and opinions on the decisions that the Raiders make. He is already a Raider legend, and, I mean, let's be honest - in this modern era, no one displays what it means to be a Raider more than he does. The guy has the shield tattoed on himself for crying out loud.

The Raiders know who their leader is, and they respect him and trust him enough to be involved in a process like that.
