BISMARCK N.D.– Across the country, the fastest growing sports comes on the mat in girls wrestling. With the Peace Garden State fully buying in at the high school level, and beyond.

North Dakota High School Activities Association Executive Director, Matt Fetsch, says the sport has surpassed class B softball as the fastest growing sport in the state. That growth is mirroring what we’re seeing at the national level,

“It’s been exponential growth here the last few years. We know that obviously at some point that’ll plateau,” Fetsch said. “But again, next year, anticipate even more and likely the year after, and that’s just something that’s, you know, nationally, it’s there’s been huge growth there. And North Dakota definitely is one of the leaders, as far as girls wrestling goes and the growth we’ve experienced.”
