    Woman charged with vehicular homicide after fatal wreck

    EVENSVILLE — One person was killed and another seriously injured in a wreck on Evensville Mountain Road on Saturday, according to law enforcement officials.

    The fatal accident occurred on Liberty Hill Road at around noon, and the status of the person who was seriously injured was unavailable as of press time Thursday.

    Candice Marie Ray was arrested after the fatal wreck and was charged with vehicular homicide by intoxication, resisting arrest, failure to exercise due care, driving under the influence of an intoxicant, violation of the implied consent law, vandalism of property worth less than $1,000 and assault on a public employee, according to jail records.

    The wreck is currently still under investigation by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, with assistance from the Rhea County Sheriff’s Department.
