Liverpool transfer news as 19-goal playmaker tracked and $32m 'bid made' for Baris Alper Yilmaz

Liverpool might not have made a move in the transfer market yet, but there are still 41 days remaining until the deadline. Sporting director Richard Hughes still has time to deliver a couple of vital additions.

At the top of the priority list should be finding an alternative to Leny Yoro , who has signed for Manchester United . While Liverpool opted not to make a move for the 18-year-old, not bringing in more cover at the heart of its defense would be a risk.

Meanwhile, a world-class No. 6 would be ideal if there is one available. And while Liverpool already has five senior attackers, adding another to the mix would do no harm.

Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds today . Two attack-minded players are supposedly on the radar of Hughes and Co. behind the scenes.

    Baris Alper Yilmaz (Galatasaray)

Turkish site Ajanspor reports that Liverpool has offered Galatasaray a fee of $33m (£25m/€30m) for its 24-year-old winger Baris Alper Yilmaz . Linked with a variety of Premier League sides so far this summer, Yilmaz is said to be in London at the moment.

It certainly sounds like his agent wants a deal to happen for his client. He could simply be on holiday in the English capital, of course, but the speculation around Yilmaz is mounting up nonetheless.

Liverpool.com says: The scorer of seven goals in 55 appearances in Turkey last season, he doesn't really feel like a player that Liverpool would be desperate to sign this summer. It is more than possible that the Reds' name is simply being used to engineer some interest in him. That is definitely something that has happened plenty of times before.

    Matt O'Reilly (Celtic)

Liverpool is one of a number of clubs keeping an eye on the development of Celtic midfielder Matt O'Reilly after a season in which he was on fire in the final third. Italian journalist Rudy Galetti has claimed the Reds are tracking the 23-year-old.

Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan have both been credited with an interest in O'Reilly the past. Atalanta once saw a bid worth around $19m (£15m/€18m) rejected for him.

Born in London but a Danish international at senior level, O'Reilly scored 19 goals and assisted another 18 last season. He was previously with Fulham's academy before he joined MK Dons and then the Scottish Premiership giant.

Liverpool.com says: While his numbers are very good, Celtic will not let its star man leave on the cheap. Liverpool would probably be more likely to let him move elsewhere in the Premier League first before making a move when he is more established in England.
