Isabella Strahan, the daughter of NFL legend Michael Strahan, has shared a significant health update after battling medulloblastoma, a malignant brain tumor, since last year.
In a new update posted on her YouTube channel on Thursday, the 19-year-old daughter of “Good Morning America” co-anchor Michael Strahan revealed that she is now cancer-free.
Through her series of vlogs, Isabella Strahan has been very open about her cancer treatment journey because, as she stated on GMA, “I hope to be just kind of a voice, and be who people , maybe who are going through chemotherapy or radiation can look at.”
In her most recent vlog, “Goodbye Hospital,” the student and model was returned to Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center in Durham, N.C., where she had her chemotherapy port surgically removed.
Isabella then underwent an MRI and attended her final doctor’s appointment to review her scans. Eight months after being diagnosed with a brain tumor, she was overjoyed to learn that she is now cancer-free.
“It was a great, great scan,” she said. “Everything was clear. Cancer-free, and everything is great. I don’t have another doctor’s appointment until October.” “I miss my doctors already and everyone who’s helped me because they’re all so nice,” she continued. “I feel like I’m just saddened today knowing that I wasn’t gonna be going back for a while because I love them so much. So, that was my last hospital vlog until October!”
Isabella then described how much pain she felt the next day after the port was removed from her neck and stomach.
“My side hurts a lot. It feels like I got stabbed . I said, ‘Oh, it doesn’t hurt that much.’ I think it’s because all of the stuff wore off… I can’t stand up straight,” she said, wincing in pain. “I also feel like the tube was going into my heart because my heart started cramping. I don’t know if that’s supposed to happen, but… not enjoyable.”
“It definitely doesn’t feel great,” Isabella Strahan added while showing her bandaged incision.
