HARBOR SPRINGS — The Little Traverse Conservancy is gearing up to host its largest fundraiser of the year, Save the Trees, on July 25 at the Offield Family Viewlands.

The summer cocktail party, now in its 36th year, will take place from 6-7:30 p.m.

“It is our largest annual fundraiser, and all gifts go directly toward land protection in Northern Michigan,” said Lindsay Hall, development associate for the conservancy. “This event is just really special because it’s an opportunity for all of our closest friends and supporters to gather together and protect what they love most about Northern Michigan, and it really helps fuel our mission for the rest of the year.”

Proceeds from the fundraiser will support the conservancy’s land protection projects in its five-county region, which includes Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Chippewa, Emmet and Mackinac counties.

“We do have members that come from all five counties (to the fundraiser) and we always love to see new faces, too,” Hall said. “Sometimes this is an opportunity for somebody who has never been involved with the conservancy to come out and join us for the first time. We welcome everybody.”

After Save the Trees, people are encouraged to stick around for the Rock the Forest concert. The Castellows, a rising neotraditional country music trio, will perform at the 8 p.m. show at the viewlands.

“It feels unique to have everyone gathered together overlooking the most beautiful view at the Offield Family Viewlands and to have a one-night only concert is so special in this incredible location,” Hall said.

Tickets to the concert are sold separately. People can attend both events, or just attend one if they’d like. Fifty dollars from each Rock the Trees ticket will go back to the conservancy.

Guests should bring their own picnic blankets or chairs, snacks and drinks for Rock the Forest.
