BMW brought not one but two new M5s at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. The Speed Yellow M5 highlights the vast offerings of the BMW Individual program while the Frozen Deep Grey model showcases the possibilities of the standard color palette. To elevate the exclusivity of their new super sedan, BMW has announced that up to 150 special colors will be available for the 2025 BMW M5 G90 generation.

We obsessively covered all things M5 G90 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed but there were plenty of other new BMWs there. Aside from the M135 and X3 M50 we’ve already highlighted, the M4 CS showed up as well. In fact, the meanest all-wheel-drive G82 of them all celebrated its dynamic debut up the famous hill climb course.

Porsche production manager Albrecht Reimold tells Automobilewoche that the 718 lineup, comprised of the Boxster and Cayman, will end production in 2025. Porsche has already been forced to retire the 718 twins in Europe due to more stringent cybersecurity regulations (and the Macan along with it). More stringent emissions requirements across the pond would have done the pair in at some point as it is. The 718’s electric replacement is underway, and while Reimold didn’t share further details on the upcoming models, it’s hard to imagine Porsche will leave much of a gap between the end of 718 production and the next model’s introduction.

Earlier this year, Porsche was forced to retire the 718 Boxster and Cayman in Europe due to new cybersecurity regulations. The Macan with gasoline engines suffered the same fate. However, the sports car duo and the crossover are still available to purchase outside of the EU. Even so, the writing is on the wall for these models equipped with combustion engines.
