Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reportedly ready to sanction the departure of up to seven more senior players this summer as part of the club's ongoing overhaul.

Ratcliffe's involvement with the Red Devils was officially confirmed shortly after the January transfer window, marking this summer as his first chance to bring in fresh faces. The billionaire has already been active behind the scenes, bringing in CEO Omar Berrada, technical director Jason Wilcox and sporting director Dan Ashworth to work on new contracts.

The first two of these deals have already been finalized. Joshua Zirkzee has sealed a $48m (£37m) switch from Bologna, while Leny Yoro has followed suit with a move from Lille that initially cost $67 (£52m).

United has also managed to offload some of its high earners, with Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial being released and Mason Greenwood sold to Marseille. However, it seems these three may not be the last to exit Old Trafford.

Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Scott McTominay and Christian Eriksen are all set to see their contracts expire next summer, and according to ESPN , United are open to offers for all five. Fulham has already had a bid for McTominay rejected, Galatasaray has shown interest in the Scotland international, and West Ham considered a move for Maguire back in 2023.

Casemiro, who made his move to United from Real Madrid in 2022, is another player who might be on the move. After a challenging second season in Manchester and missing out on Brazil's Copa America squad, there's been reported interest from Saudi Arabia.

Antony, the winger who joined United alongside Casemiro, could also be heading for the exit. Despite United reportedly considering a permanent sale earlier this year, it now seems they're open to a loan deal if a team is willing to cover his wages.

United managed to beat Real Madrid to secure the signing of Yoro as their second addition this summer and he has earned high praise from Ashworth.

"Leny is one of the most exciting young defenders in world football; he possesses every attribute needed to develop into a top-class centre-back," Ashworth said. "Having had such an excellent start to his career we are excited to support him in reaching his immense potential here at Manchester United.

"This club has a fantastic record of developing young players, whether homegrown or brought in from elsewhere, and giving them the required guidance, time and patience to grow and flourish. Under Erik ten Hag and our excellent staff we will ensure that Leny has the perfect platform to achieve the success that everyone across the club is aiming for."

Liverpool.com says: United has a lot of players in its squad and will need to get rid of some big names this summer. Ten Hag has already made some decent signings but the future appears bleak for the likes of Maguire and Casemiro. That said, their hefty wages may mean it is difficult to move them on.
